MCP
arqtekt is also an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. By connecting an AI assistant that speaks MCP, such as Claude or Cursor, you can ask it in conversation to create objects, edit meshes, paint textures and apply modifiers to your projects. Every change is saved immediately and is already there when you open the editor.
Connecting
- In the dashboard, open Account, Services tab, and copy the MCP server address.
- Add that address as an MCP server in your agent.
- The first time, the agent opens a arqtekt page. Sign in if you haven't yet, check the agent's name and click Allow access.
There is no key or token to copy: authorization happens on that page, and the agent receives access on its own.
The address has this format:
https://arqtekt.com/api/mcp
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http arqtekt https://arqtekt.com/api/mcp
Cursor and other agents
Agents configured through a JSON file accept the server as an HTTP entry:
{
"mcpServers": {
"arqtekt": { "url": "https://arqtekt.com/api/mcp" }
}
}
What the agent can do
The agent acts on behalf of your account and with your roles. It reaches the projects that are yours, the ones shared with you and the ones in the workspaces you belong to. In a project where you are Viewer, it can only read.
- Projects: List, create and read a whole project, with the hierarchy, transforms and measurements of each object.
- Objects: Create primitives, groups, cameras and modifiers, change properties, position, color and hierarchy, and delete.
- Mesh: Inspect faces and extrude, inset, bevel, move, scale and delete faces picked by direction, region or index.
- Materials: Create and change materials, apply a material to an object and delete the ones nothing uses.
- Textures: Create textures and paint by description: shapes, the area the faces of an object occupy, a pixel grid, noise, patterns and filters. It also brings in an image from an address or sent in the conversation, and arranges everything in layers, including shape and text layers, which stay editable in the editor.
- Boards: Build the boards of the Artboard like in the editor: create, duplicate, reorder and delete boards, change the sheet, and add, change, duplicate, align, distribute and stack shapes, text, images, tables, charts, cartesian planes, lines, dimension lines and model views, including the 1:N scale. The agent sees the board as you do, whole or zoomed into a part, with each element marked, and exports it as PDF or PNG.
- Preview: Receive the image of the texture and an image of the model rendered on the server, from any side, to check the result before moving on.
- Modules: Create and change the objects and modifiers of the installed modules.
- Documentation: Read these same pages and what each property accepts, so it doesn't have to guess values.
Limitations
- The agent can't create 3D text.
- The displacer modifier only accepts noise, not a texture.
- The agent can't create a vector layer, resize a texture or edit a material with a custom shader.
- The text of a layer created by the agent can end up with its lines a few pixels off. The editor draws the layer again the first time you edit it.
- The rendered image uses fixed lights and doesn't show sky, water or other content that only the module draws.
- Module content that needs to generate a texture or material only works in the editor.
- Editing a primitive's faces and then changing its properties generates the mesh again and discards those edits, just like in the editor.
Revoking access
The same Services tab lists the connected agents, with the date of authorization and last use. Revoke cuts access immediately, and the agent needs to be authorized again to use your projects.
